Well, actually it’s been gestating for a few months. But the site is fully up and running with 5 posted podcast available, and two more recorded and waiting for Ben and me to find time to get them up.

Hey, thanks for the thanks, but it was no big deal. I’m starting to feel like Mel. Pretty soon I’m gonna be making homemade iron-on t-shirts and carrying photos of your lips in my wallet.

Also: can I call you Chappy and The Donbeard? 

That’s not a reference to anything. I just like nicknames.

Futura.  Cause all the cool kids use Futura.  Extra points if you can find where I stole the graphic from.

I don’t see you as Mel, more like a Kubrick.  At least I think that’s Kubrick.  Can I call you Adam?

Or did you mean Wes Anderson, George Lucas (if but once), and — circling back as they say (didn’t need an index card) — Kubrick. Twice.

I know these things because I love Futura as much as I love trains, vodka, Alan Moore comics, Barbara Kruger posters, and other things.

I’m glad you didn’t use Extra Bold Condensed, though it’s one of my favorite weights, since I just discovered that it is the Saddam Hussein of typefaces.

As for nicknames, well, I do throw down a mean fishstick.

Episode 4 of Food Safety Talk. In which Ben and Don can’t mesh their schedules, so Don interviews Michael Batz, who turns out to be just as big a food safety nerd as Don or Ben. Like certain other podcasters, Batz insisted on using WiFi rather than a wired Ethernet connection as suggested by the experts. Although he promised to “sit real close” to his wireless base station, the quality of the call degrades toward the end. Don was prepared to drop in a few choice sound effects in case Mike dropped out completely, but in the end everything Mike had to say made it into the recording.

For the record it’s only professors in the humanities that get to walk around in their bathrobes and smoke dope.
